Crown Flower (Calotropis gigantea)

The royal beauty of this flower is unsurpassed. It is one of my favorite flowers of all time. On a recent trip to Oahu, I found this plant growing along front yards in neighborhoods in Kailua, in botanical gardens, and shared beautiful leis made of purple and white crown flowers with my daughter and her girlfriends. This flower remains me of a starfish and the soft lavender hues are even more beautiful in real life.
