Selfies with your favorite Flower

When I saw my 21-year-old daughter taking a selfie with a gorgeous yellow hibiscus, I felt proud and that I have done well as a mother. There are few things that are more beautiful than a giant tropical flower bloom, but as mothers, we know that our daughters surely are. I remember gardening with my mother and tending to her flowers when I was growing up in Los Angeles as a girl. She instilled in me the love of plants, as her mother did for her. My Russian grandmother would spend much of her time “working in God’s good green Earth” as she would say and as my mother does today, often spending 8 hours a day in her garden and growing vegetables and fruits on her land. Fast forward to 2022, as my daughter approaches graduation from college, I see the love of the natural world in her. The fun that we share on our botanical escapades and adventures is neverending and now we can document the beautiful plants that we see one Instagram post at a time.
